The olympic village is 11 kms from the souther part of Ismailia city on Ismailia - Faeed road which extends along side the suez canal .
The total ground area of the Olympic village is 28 feddans . 16 thousand square meters are green areas and playgrounds . The side of the village overlooking the canal is about 430 meters and its depth is 214 meters .
There are two enterances to the village . The main gate is overlooking the suez canal and the back gate is on the street leading to the residential areas in back of the olympic village .
The olympic village lies on a plain area with some sandy hills . The accommodation facilities were constracted on these sandy hills allowing the residents to enjoy the spectacular view of the ships moving through the navigational course of the suez canal .The olympic village is considered a resort that incorporates hotel facilities accompanied by a variety of sports fields and courts . Moreover , it has several conference rooms and celiberation halls as well as the public service fasilities . these characteristics enable the olympic village to host the sports teams and delegations , conferences , touristic groups and individuals besides the championships and festivals . the village is well prepared to provide accommodation to all the Egyptian , Arab , and European sports teams .
The hotel fasilities are located on the sandy hills at the eastern part of the village . These facilities are divided into blocks containing suites overlooking the suez canal with green areas in the front .
